Problem

As of approximately March 20, 2026, all archive.org hosted PKG download links
are returning 401 Authorization Required or "Item not available" errors.

This affects anyone using the default GAMES.json pointing to:
https://ia600801.us.archive.org/10/items/ps4-fpkg-collection-english-fpkgi/GAMES.json

What we tested

Direct .pkg links from archive.org return 401 on PS4
Same links return 401 in browser incognito (not logged in)
Links ONLY work when logged into archive.org
The PS4 has no way to authenticate with archive.org
The new A-Z collections (ps4-fpkg-collection-english-a through z)
are also all behind the same login wall
This worked fine 20 days ago — broke ~2-3 days ago
Other users on TikTok confirmed the same issue simultaneously

Root cause

archive.org locked down the entire ps4-fpkg-collection due to ongoing
copyright lawsuits and a 2024 cyberattack. This is permanent.

Request

The default GAMES.json needs to be updated to use a public host
that doesn't require authentication (buzzheavier, spyderrock, etc.)
