I am on the latest Discord Stable 507841 (9fcfc74), BD 1.13.9, and BetterPinDMs version 3.0 and it works perfectly fine here.
Are you using the same versions? Got any console errors/warnings related to the plugin?

I think I figured out the issue.
The right-click menu worked, but didn't seem to pull any data. I tried deleting the config and making a new pin category, and it works as normal.
Comparing the new and old files, it seems as though the formatting was changed between versions, and mine wasn't updated for whatever reason, which is why BetterPinDMs appeared to be broken - it thought I had no pinned DMs, and thus wasn't displaying any.
Could that be caused from skipping over a version of the plugin? I tend to be slow to updating since it often breaks my plugins. One of my friends also waits to update and has the same issue as me, so that's my best guess.
Either way it seems to be fixed for me now, I just have to copy the old data to the new formatting and tell my friend to do the same.

Whenever I do anything with the plugin (making category, updating category, pinning someone to a category, etc) it doesn't update in real time, but the config file seems to be updating and it applies correctly on exiting and reentering the DMs page. Unsure of why.

Trying to copy all of the pinned DMs from the old config file completely wiped the config... I made sure it was properly formatted too. I think one of the IDs is corrupting it.

Finally got all of them back by much trial and error. My friend is complaining about the drag & drop feature being gone.

BPDMs Version 3.0 is a major rewrite with a few breaking changes such as the new structure.
I probably should have tested the data migration function more rigorously; I will try to fix it in the next update. Sorry about that.
So at this stage - what are the issues? Just the drag and drop? I know drag and drop is partially working, it does work fine for me within groups, but not outside of them, so I will have that fixed.

I recall you had a few small issues with PermissionViewer, which I fixed. So you may want to check out my upcoming PermissionsToolkit, a rewrite of PV with tons of added handy tools and features, which will be released right after the next official PermissionsViewer release :)

Also, are you using any of my other plugins? If so, which and are you generally satisfied?
