Hi! First things first, I much appreciate your project*.** All the options below will be compared to the Xbox Series X (latest Moonlight) - very stable at 4k 120 fps.

On PS5 (firmware 9.60) running the latest Vibepollo 1.18.4-stable.3 over Wi-Fi 6 with 100% signal strength, any bitrate above 80 Mbps turns the stream into a slideshow. Additionally, there is no frame pacing, (all incoming frames) option. The decode time is 7–10 ms, whereas the Xbox gets 1–2 ms. I am able to test all the new betas! 😉

Hi @raceblue1980 , can you try the latest version? Should have more performance enhancements for 4K120 - tested on my setup using ethernet, though.

Hello. I just did some quick tests, and it seems I have the same issue. The decoding time is way too high—averaging 26ms with a maximum of 160ms—resulting in a lot of skipped frames. I should also mention that the mouse cursor is stuttering in Windows. For me, this happens regardless of whether the H.264 or H.265 codec is being used and 80 or 150 Mbit

I will continue investigating to see how to reproduce this bad performance here.

For reference, I am using the regular Sunshine server + VirtualDisplayDriver, Ethernet, and my PC has a 1070 TI so I have been testing only with some platform games that my GPU can handle the 4K120FPS).

To see if I can get as close as your test case, I assume I need to test:

  • Vibepollo instead of Sunshine
  • Wifi instead of ethernet (can you confirm both PC and PS5 are or wifi or only one of them?)
  • Can you suggest any game you used for testing?

Hello

Thanks from my side as well for developing this awesome homebrew.

Also thanks to OP, setting my Bandwidth to 80Gbps removed my framerate issues with 1440p 120 Hz

Would love to see a fix, but appreciate this project either way.

One more question, can you add an option to disable UI sounds?

Thanks

hi, tried with vibepollo by ethernet in my ps5 fat 9.60, same wall after 80Mbps the skipped frames goes to the hell, with 80 fps I have some shuttering, mostly when the image changes a lot, using it in 40 gives me the best results, the game most fail for me is rocket league as is a game fast that can have a +100 fps in my setup, i have another clients in my home in I usually put it in 260 Mbps without trouble, btw Aazing work and can test any version if needed

Thanks for sharing. I will be using vibepollo tomorrow to do all the testing (before, I was using only sunshine + VDD).

For everyone else on this issue, I should be working on this tomorrow. In the last few days, was pretty much putting all my effort on the ps5-opengl port, which I finally completely the first release today.

Hello! Vibepollo 1.18.4-stable.4 is a much better fork than the original Sunshine. It uses a virtual display out of the box and provides a much smoother bitrate. I highly appreciate your effort and am looking forward to the next build! 😉
