After formatting the drive this way, PS4 games can be installed directly onto the external drive. However, ShadowMountPlus does not seem to scan or recognize any PS4 game data present on this drive.

ShadowMountPlus (SMP) fails to detect PS4 games that are installed on a USB external hard drive which has been formatted as USB extended storage through the PS5 system settings (Settings > Storage > USB Extended Storage > Format as USB Extended Storage). After formatting the drive this way, PS4 games can be installed directly onto the external drive. It only shows the games it manages. The games in the PKG work without SM+. I'll think about adding the rest, but they can only be deleted, without any other actions.
