Hello!
I created a utility for converting PS4 game .pkg images to .ffpfsc format. https://github.com/SadykovIV/PS4pkg_to_ffpfsc
The games mount and are playable. However, I get an error Trophy registration failed (0x80551618) when launching each game.
debug.log
ShadowMountPlus mounts the image as a regular PFS file and creates a nullfs file in /system_ex/app.
However, it doesn't invoke the system LNC mechanism BeginAppMount → sandbox mount with appId/budget → EndAppMount, as is done during a standard PS4 installation from PKG game files via the Debug menu.
.ffpfsc image:
→ generic PFS/exFAT/UFS mount
→ direct nullfs to /system_ex/app/CUSAxxxxx
→ write to app.db
→ launchApp
launchApp (installed PKG)
→ BeginAppMount
→ appId + budget + NPDRM/PFS context
→ PrepareProcessLaunchDir
→ native sandbox/app0
→ spawnApp
→ game
→ system cleanup
→ EndAppMount
Upon launch, the system (or ShadowMountsPlus) searches for the original npbind.dat, nptitle.dat, and param.sfo files. They are present in sce_sys, but only param.json ends up in the system metadata directory.Furthermore, the program code mistakenly searches for npbind.dat inside the nested trophy2/ and uds/ directories, which this PS4 game does not have. That is, when launching the PS4 .ffpfsc game image, the system thinks it is like a PS5 game.
I come here every day just to see if the matter has received any attention from @drakmor—even if it’s just to find out that the problem has no solution—so that at least I can stop converting my library of PS4 PKGs in the hope of being able to store and manage all my PS4 and PS5 games solely on external USB drives.
