This is a bit strange, maybe specific to OpenBSD pkgconf only. The version number detection seems to be off. But then still
2.4.3should be greater than1.0.9, right?I am using latest libusb git.
Okay, looks like for libusb git, libusb-1.0 version is not well populated under OpenBSD.
Let me use libusb-1.0.29 release instead.
Somehow OpenBSD's pkgconf still does not work well.Oops, wrong command used.
Now it works.
The following is to install to /usr/local.
I will close this issue as it is not an hidapi issue.
Rather it seems to be a libusb git issue with libusb-1.0.pc generation (not a problem with release).
No issues building hidapitester using CMake either after the above.
But the FX2HID example does not seem to work.
As this is a High Speed USB HID device which may have problems with BSDs, I have forced it to run in full speed mode.
But it still does not work.
Changed the title and re-open the issue.
I will test with physical machine and another generic USB HID device.
Still using VM but changes to another Generic USB HID device mentioned here. The device works fine under FreeBSD 15 VM using PR #730.
Feature Report loopback is working fine but Input/Output loopback does not work under OpenBSD 7.8 VM, just like NetBSD 10.1 VM.
Still using VirtualBox VM.
CircuitPython USB HID example from here, using Raspberry Pi Pico 2 (loop back the contents of Output Report 2 to Input Report 1, other than the first byte which is the Report ID).

This example does not work under OpenBSD.
Using Physical Machine, an Intel N4200 CPU based mini PC.
The results are more or less the same as the VirtualBox VM, but a bit worse, since feature report loopback for 0925:7001 does work.
