The CMAKE documentation on ARCHIVE_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY states, that this target property may make use of CMAKE generator expressions.

If generator expressions are used in ARCHIVE_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY the function pico_add_uf2_output in <pico_sdk>/tools/CMakeLists.txt fails in line 59 file(MAKE_DIRECTORY "${output_path}")
