Summary

Launching Chiaki-ng 1.10.0 on Windows 11 results in a completely blank application window. No consoles are displayed, no settings gear is visible, and no UI elements render. The application launches successfully and remains running, but the GUI is unusable.

Environment

  • OS: Windows 11 [10.0.26200]
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB)
  • NVIDIA Driver: 616.92
  • Chiaki-ng Version: 1.10.0
  • Displays: Dual-monitor setup
  • HDR: Disabled on all displays (also tried enabled)
  • Vulkan: Functional (vulkaninfo completes successfully)

Troubleshooting Performed

  • Reinstalled Chiaki-ng 1.10.0
  • Launched from Explorer and Command Prompt
  • Verified Vulkan is functioning (vulkaninfo)
  • Disabled HDR
  • Reproduced consistently after restart
  • Application does not crash; only the GUI fails to render

Steps To Reproduce

  • Launch chiaki-ng.exe

Relevant Log Output

The log seems to show successful Vulkan initialization and GPU detection:

GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Driver info: 616.92
API version: 1.4.351

Vulkan device creation also appears to succeed:

Spent 326.630 ms creating vulkan device

However, shortly afterward libplacebo seems to fail GPU allocations during GUI rendering:

Allocation of size 252K failed: VK_ERROR_OUT_OF_DEVICE_MEMORY!
No slab to serve request for 128 bytes (with alignment 0xc00) in pool 0!
Failed allocating vertex buffer!

These errors repeat continuously while the GUI remains blank.

I was able to work around the blank UI issue.

Launch Chiaki-ng with:

set CHIAKI_FORCE_VULKAN_FALLBACK=1
"C:\Program Files\chiaki-ng\chiaki.exe"

After forcing the OpenGL fallback renderer, the UI appears normally and Remote Play streaming works correctly.
