Delete branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
There have been no new releases since 2016,
it would be nice to find the last stable tag to make a release because it's been a while since there has been one made
This will help to ensure the sustainability of the project over time
it would have been nice to have a new release for each version change.

the branches exist, but what the release/tags for target STABLE version does not :/

Hello @tpoechtrager, would you be interested in the github actions workflow to build and upload release assets?
We use the cctools in cross-builds, and rebuild them quite often in docker. I assume, many people can get advantage from prebuilt binaries.
