I wonder if it is possible to make a version for mac os, in addition to linux and windows, now that it is possible to use a single executable file, I wonder if it is possible to make a version for mac os.
(this expands the users who can use this tool, where there are also other tools for mac such as: PS fPKG Builder)
For all users who use these types of software for mac, this tool is extremely essential for those who have the ps5.
Really thank you for all your precious work.
I added macos arm64 and x64 to the action builds, here is the latest run: https://github.com/idlesauce/ps4-eboot-dlc-patcher/actions/runs/10796754758
I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "now that it is possible to use a single executable file", were you asking for me to bundle wine and the publishing tools, like this project?
Sorry if I'm only answering now, I was referring to the issue that before to make the patcher dlc work you had to install IDA Pro, python and do a whole procedure, now instead everything is executable with a simple file without having to install anything (I imagine that python now doesn't need to be installed, forgive me I haven't tried the latest version yet), so it would have been convenient to have the same executable file on mac because you didn't need to do anything else like install IDA Pro and expensive software).
Yes, I meant a unique software, like that project.
Anyway no, don't do it if it can cause problems or even if it's very demanding, I was wondering if it could be a built-in for ease of use and better stability.
Thanks for your work.
@idlesauce
I noticed that on MAC unfortunately the whole procedure to patch the DLCs is not available, because you would also need a patcher of eboot.bin for MAC, because otherwise you would have to do it first on windows and then move on to mac (using this version for mac) and then go back to windows to repack everything.
I think it is not very convenient this way.
Unless there are somewhere SelfUtil-Patched for MAC, (in a way to do the whole procedure on MAC, without going through windows) I do not know if the version for MAC is actually useful.
The best thing to do in this case I think is (I do not know if it is possible, maybe not) to get a .pkg downloaded on MAC and (without extracting it or doing anything else) pass it directly with the DLC patcher tool and get the same .pkg already patched.
In this way whoever has a MAC can actually use the DLC patcher.
It will also be more stable and will update only once all together.
So building an all-in-one tool, maybe I'm asking too much, but for MAC I think this is the solution.
(Integrating parts of other projects even developed by other people, as other tools do)
Thanks for all your work. 🙏
The intended usage for linux and mac for now is that you use Modded Warfare's Patch Builder or PS4-Fake-PKG-Tools-3.87 through wine, my plan was to invoke the pub tools through wine/qemu if needed but at this point I don't know if I'll ever get around to it...
On mac you should be able to install wine through homebrew:
brew install --cask --no-quarantine wine-stable(source), then launch the exe likewine "Patch Builder v1.3.3.exe"Since Modded Warfare's Patch Builder uses some protector it may cause issues I'm not sure, I haven't tried it, but if so you'll need to use the cli publishing tools which aren't as friendly, if that ends up being needed I can get back to you with commands or a script.
The main releases don't have this yet so its not in the readme but this latest build has a built-in selfutil so no need to externally unsign. Also it finds the executables for you in the pkg so you wont miss any, you just have to pass in all your update and dlc pkgs as args.
